Iconic Sydney mansion, Darling Point’s Gatsby House, is letting in the common people for a one-weekend-only party from tomorrow, and itโ€™s got “A-lister decadence” code all over it.

We’re talking flowing Yarra Valley sparkling wine, music, and gourmet food. Hosted at the incredible Ovata Houseโ€”aka the Gatsby mansion, aka Orme Estate โ€”itโ€™s basically just an excuse to dress up, drink nice wine and sticky-beak how the other half lives.

For just $70 (which includes drinks, food, and transport), you can swan around the amazing location like youโ€™ve inherited a family fortune. Your ticket also covers a ride on the Ovata Shuttle, which sounds fancy, but it’s just a nice way of saying theyโ€™ll pick you up from Edgecliff Station and chauffeur you in style to the mansion.

The mansion

A swimming pool, flanked by white umbrellas and lounge chairs, sits beside a white building; lush greenery and a distant cityscape form the backdrop

Swimming in the pool isnโ€™t allowed but donโ€™t worryโ€”you can still stand near the pool, wine in hand, looking reflective and mysterious, like youโ€™ve got a husband who disappeared under suspicious circumstances somewhere. The dress code? Succession-glam. Think Caroline’s wedding in Tuscany.

More than just wine and vibes

The eventโ€™s menu comes courtesy of Aplenty, the events company famous for gourmet nibbles, all curated to pair perfectly with Ovata by Oakridgeโ€™s sparkling wines. The sparkling wine has been carefully crafted by winemaker Teresa Heuzenroeder (yes, real name, not made up for dramatic effect), whoโ€™s been perfecting her art for over 20 years.

Your all-inclusive ticket to Ovata House includes Oakridge sparkling wine and sparkling wine cocktails. Guests will also be invited to enjoy a range of canapรฉs from the team at Aplenty. Comfortable seating along with entertainment, a live DJ and lawn games, will be available for you to enjoy on the lavish lawns of Ovata House.

Whether youโ€™re there for the glamour, the gourmet food, or just to say youโ€™ve been to a party in a multi-million-dollar mansion, treat yourself.

When:
Saturday, October 26: 3pm to 6pm
Sunday, October 27: 2pm to 5pm
Where: Orme Estate/ Gatsby House | 5 Marathon Avenue, Rushcutters Bay NSW 2027
Cost: $70
