Sydney Beer Week burst on to the scene last year, bringing seven days of events, creative collaborations and unique brews to the city. Last year’s festival saw breweries teaming up with local distilleries and other businesses to deliver events that Sydney’s beer lovers couldn’t get enough of. The city turned out in force for tap takeovers, to learn about the perfect beer and food pairings, to taste unique brews and to take part in masterclasses.
This year, events will take place at breweries across Sydney, putting breweries, bars and venues at the heart of the action.
Putting breweries under the spotlight
There will be more opportunities for beer lovers to get behind the scenes, meet the brewers behind their favourite schooner and experience the craft up close.
For the first time, there are no registration fees for venues so we’re expecting the festival to be even bigger than last year. It’s also touted to be more flexible, with less restrictions, meaning those taking part can craft events that showcase their beers and brands however they want to. It’s a radically fresh approach.
But the range of activations, from tap takeovers and beer launches to immersive events and masterclasses, will remain.
Theย return of the Beer & Brewer Awards
A highlight of Sydney Beer Week 2025 will be the Beer & Brewer Awards, which will run as a face-to-face event. Recognising the hard work and creativity across all facets of brewing, venues and innovation, it’s special occasion for Australia’s beer industry. From a brewery creating world-class brews to a rising star making their mark on the industry, all will be celebrated at the awards.
And where better to stage the return of the in-person awards than at Sydney Beer Week 2025?
