The Sydney Swans have something to cheer about as The Peter Weinert Museum has officially opened at their Moore Park HQ. Supported by the NSW Government, the new museum charts the history of the Harbour City’s historic Australian football team.
Sydney Swans Chairman Andrew Pridham described the museum’s opening as a landmark moment for the club, saying “The Peter Weinert Museum is the jewel in the crown of our Sydney home, and we are immensely proud to open its doors to our members and fans.”
What can visitors expect to find at The Peter Weinert Museum?
Named after Sydney Swans Life Member and former president, Peter Weinert, who is regarded by many as the saviour of the club, the new museum spans more than 150 years of the club’s history. Visitors are taken on a journey from the club’s humble beginnings in South Melbourne to today’s triumphs. The people, events and achievements that have shaped the Sydney Swans are showcased in the immersive collection display.
Digital tech, interactive displays and astonishing memorabilia and artefacts including premiership caps from the 1800s are on show. It’s an enlightening experience for devoted AFL fans and newcomers to the sport alike.

What are the opening times?
The Peter Weinert Museum is open to the public on weekdays and on Sydney Swans home game days at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It is open from 10am to 4pm.
