Paul Kelly’s Sydney show in 2025 promises to be the biggest in over a decade

In a career that’s become synonymous with Australian music, storytelling and gravy, Paul Kelly is preparing to make 2025 one for the books. Tickets for Paul Kelly’s Sydney show – there will be only one – are on sale Monday October 28th.

The nation’s cool dad, an iconic singer-songwriter known for his lyrical explorations of Australia’s landscape and character, announced he’ll be taking over some of the biggest arenas in Australia and New Zealand. These shows will be the beloved Aussie singer’s only scheduled live dates in 2025, and he’s bringing Grammy-winner Jason Isbell along for the tour. And as always, Paul Kelly’s Sydney show will see him surrounded by his trusted band including Dan Kelly and Peter Luscombe.

The high-stakes tour is to promote his latest album, Fever Longing Still, set for release on November 1. This new work draws inspiration from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 147, and fans can expect the deeply reflective songwriting Kelly is known for.

With a discography of beloved anthems like “To Her Door,” “Before Too Long,” and “From Little Things Big Things Grow,” Paul Kelly isn’t just a musician—he’s a national treasure.

He’s written about cricketers, bushrangers, lovers, and battlers, shaping a vivid musical portrait of a country that’s changed as much as it’s stayed the same. Awarded the Order of Australia in 2017, with 17 ARIA Awards and five APRA awards, rather than resting on glory days past, Kelly constantly finds fresh new ways to produce music.

No other artist has done things like produce an album completely based on poems about birds, but still show up in every single pub-juke-box in the country. He also wrote Australia’s only true Christmas carol, “How to make gravy”.

For the Australian dates, Aria- and Golden Guitar-winning Fanny Lumsden will open, injecting a little bit of Aussie country sound into the mix.

Fans who’ve grown up on Kelly’s lyrics will get to revisit memories tied to his tracks and to make new ones as he brings Fever Longing Still to life on stage. Tickets will go on sale for this single Sydney show Monday, October 28.
