Move over Nigella, Martha Stewart is coming to Sydney. The TV personality, legendary home-maker and best-selling author has been announced at the Global Storyteller for this year’s Vivid Sydney She might seem like an unusual choice for the festival, but she’s still riding in the wake of her Netflix documentary, Martha, which shot to the top spot around the world in late 2024.

What is a Global Storyteller?

Vivid Sydney’s Global Storyteller series is popular every year. Designed to bring together ‘the world’s greatest mins and creative leaders’, it’s an opportunity for some more unexpected stars to appear.

Previous speakers include Hollywood trailblazers Baz Luhrmann and Spike Lee, local singing sensation Troye Sivan and pop culture icon Jennifer Coolidge, who was joined by The White Lotus creator, writer and director Mike White. We still talk about Coolidge’s appearance. Joining this star-studded and surprising lineup, Martha Stewart is in good company.

Where to see Martha Stewart at Vivid

The first self-made female billionaire will take to the stage at International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney for one night only. In Conversation with Martha Stewart will take place on Wednesday, May 28.

Stewart will reflect on her extraordinary career and the evolution of her personal brand (how do you reinvent yourself from jailbird to Snoop Dogg’s bestie?). As the changing face of food, design and home life, sheโ€™ll also explore what it really takes to stay relevant for more than four decades, sharing candid insights into her most memorable moments in popular culture.

I have made some wonderful memories traveling to Australia over the years, so I am thrilled to return for Vivid Sydney. The conversation will be fun and honest, covering many aspects of my life and career.
