The news we all knew was coming finally reared its Poker Face last week when Live Nation revealed an Australian tour for pop iconoclast Lady Gaga. Cue fans screaming, parents prepared to spend a fortune on tickets for their kids, and Gaga’s “Down Under Monsters” already planning for the inevitable digital race for Lady Gaga tickets.
Anyone who wants a ticket may want to start saving now, as well. Prices have been revealed for Lady Gaga’s 2025 Australian tour. And they are even more expensive then we expected. Let’s start with the Lady Gaga Sydney ticket prices first.

This is coming from fans on Reddit who have already logged on for this morning’s Mastercard and Vodafone pre-sales.
That seems exorbitant, doesn’t it? The controversial Lady Gaga ticket pricing is all part of the ongoing trend of big-ticket concerts getting prohibitively expensive, with anyone on a budget being pushed further and further towards the nosebleed section.
The most expensive Lady Gaga ticket is just over $1,500 for the Mastercard Priceless expensive. Here’s what the package gets you:
- One reserve seated ticket (we’re going to assume level 1, front seats, as anything less would feel like a compromise at that price point)
- “Unprecedented” stage access for a “photo opportunity from where Lady Gaga will perform later”)
- Q&A with a selected member of Lady Gaga’s crew to “find out what it takes to put an elaborate production together”
- Invitation to a 90-minute pre-show MAYHEM themed VIP hospitality lounge where you will get a welcome cocktail, complimentary beer, wines and soft drinks, roaming canapes, access to a dedicated merchandise stand, and photo booths.
- Limited edition Lady Gaga merchandise created “exclusively for VIP package purchasers”
- Collectible laminate and lanyard
- Red carpet photo opportunity in front of the VIP backdrop to commemorate your evening
- Dedicated VIP entry into the venue (where available)
- Dedicated VIP check-in and onsite host
It’s hard to imagine anything at a concert where you’ve only seeing one artist would be worth $1,500, but “exclusive” is still misconstrued as “luxury” for most people.
Why are Lady Gaga tickets so expensive?
There’s no bones about it. No softening the blow here: tickets to see Lady Gaga in Sydney are very, very expensive. Yes, there’s some affordable price points in the mix, but those mean you’ll go to see Mother Monster as a speck, and the music is nowhere near as good once those soundwaves reach the ceiling and start dropping off.
The closer you are to the stage, the more immersive and memorable the experience will be. If you want to stand, rear General Admission ($212) should be good enough. And so if you want a good time seeing Lady Gaga in Sydney, you’ll want to budget at least that much. Seating tickets are, surprisingly, much more expensive than standing tickets so if you want those knees to get some rest try budget around $315.
The most expensive seating tickets are $622 which is just too much to pay for the Mayhem Ball concert in Sydney.
And why are these prices so high, you may ask?
The answer lies in dynamic pricing, a controversial pricing practice that Live Nation Australia adopted from the USA a few years ago.
This basically means that highly desirable tickets can be sold as a multiple of their face value, so there’s no longer such a thing as fixed prices for these high-profile concerts. The promoters generally ask an artist if they’d like to introduce dynamic pricing to their tour, and if they do, then the better seats are sold for a higher cost.
Dynamic pricing was introduced to combat the increasingly present threat of ticket scalping, where shady practices are used to buy tickets are cost price and sell them for outrageous mark ups. The problem with this is that the profit made by the scalper takes money away from the music industry as whole. Dynamic pricing means the tickets are still very expensive for punters, but the money goes to the artist instead.
The artist wins, but the fans are still left struggling with prices. The only positive here is that since the money is going back to the artist, they can justify putting on bigger, more impressive productions.
Lady Gaga will play Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Friday, December 12 as part of her wider Australian tour. There is still the My Live Nation pre-sale left, which opens on Wednesday, April 16 and ends before the general sale beings on Thursday, April 17.
Will there be more Lady Gaga shows in Sydney?
It would be strange if there was only one Lady Gaga show for each of her three Australian stops. The dates are spread apart, after all, so the initial announcement taking the “Born This Way” hitmaker to:
- Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium – Friday, December 5
- Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium – Tuesday, December 9
- Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena – Friday, December 12
There’s at least enough space to have 2-3 more dates in each of those cities, but it all depends on how much Mother Monster will want to be performing when she’s down here. Dua Lipa, who just started her latest tour in Australia, performed four shows in Melbourne and three in Sydney. And there are a number of other high-profile artists, like The Weeknd and Drake, who have toured recently with multiple shows for each city.
And so we’d say it’s an inevitably that Live Nation will announce new Lady Gaga shows. For now, however, fans just have to sit and wait. Just don’t panic if you miss out on tickets.
