Everywhere Dua Lipa ate in Sydney

My interest in writing grew after completing work experience at The Guardian Newspaper in London. I then studied English Literature at University, where I was the Director of Commentary at Wayzgoose Magazine, which focused on student life, arts and culture. After moving to Sydney in 2023, I became fascinated with travel journalism and the diverse number of events and activities that Sydney has to offer.

Dine like Dua and sip your way across Sydneyโ€”if your pockets can stretch to the lengths the pop star’s playbook requires.

Dua Lipa is a known trendsetter, from her fashion choices, dance moves and even her drink of choice (diet coke, jalapeรฑos and pickle juice anyone?). In true Dua style, she’s been spotted dining at some of Sydney’s coolest restaurants, as well as snacking on some Aussie favourites.

10 William Street

This little Paddington gem matches Dua’s vibe perfectlyโ€”it’s classy and cool with an amazing wine list and an intimate atmosphere. She posted a picture of 10 William Street’s delicious murray cod, agretti and garlic, which goes for $52, alongside their olives ($11). We wonder if she was tempted by their famous pretzel & whipped bottarga and their tiramisu?

Ester, Chippendale

Ester is known for its delicious food, minimalist concrete walls and wood-fired cooking style. The restaurant is tucked away on a little side street in Chippendale, making it a perfect low-key place for the star to eat. Dua posted an image of their Yamba king prawns with fermented shrimp butter, suggesting that she indulged in their set menu.

The set menu costs $165 per person and includes scallops, wood-fired porchetta, “crepe brรปlรฉe” and more.

A.P Bread and Wine, Darlinghurst

A.P. Bread and Wine features on Service95, a weekly lifestyle newsletter and website founded by Dua Lipa in 2021, under the headline “The 17 Best Places to Eat and Drink in Sydney”. She obviously couldn’t resist returning to the Sydney bakery, where she tried their McA.P, a breakfast muffin, crispy chicken, egg, melted cheese and a hash brown on the side.

This breakfast treat is exclusive to their Darlinghurst store and will set you back $19.

Mimi’s, Coogee

Dua managed to fit in a Merivale venue visit and she made a good choice with Mimi’s. This ‘Coastal Fine Dining’ spot is located on the ground floor of Coogee Pavilion.

The pop star enjoyed the grilled octopus ($72), potato scallop with chicken skin salt and caviar ($55), blue fin toro with confit tomato and warm crumpet ($23) and a fried chicken bun with sour cream ($58).

Gelato Messina, Bondi

Dua’s go-to ice cream combination went viral in 2023, when she revealed her favourite snack is vanilla ice cream topped with olive oil and salt flakes (I’m still not convinced). Sticking with her love of salty-sweet combinations, she picked salted coconut and mango in a cone ($6.90) at Messina.

IGA Bondi

Dua Lipa may be a global pop star, but she still needs groceries like the rest of us. She was spotted by fans leaving the Bondi IGA, looking like a true Aussie.

She posted a picture of eight different TimTam flavours on her Instagram story, so maybe she picked up the selection of Australia’s favourite chocolate biscuits after spending the day catching some rays at Tamarama Beach.
