Eurovision is coming to Sydney for the first time ever

The world’s biggest (and most ridiculous) live music show is hitting the road for the first time ever with Eurovision On Tour bringing 18 of the quirky competition’s artists to Australia.

The Eurovision Song Contest is frequently billed as one of the year’s most anticipated music shows: a unique, typically left-field and incredibly weird music competition tasking artists from across Europe (and, for reasons unknown, Australia) with overblown, melodramatic performances.

Bringing the whole thing down under for the very first time is the shell-shock we need as Sydney sprints towards the end of the year. The organisers of the tour will take Eurovision around the country, stopping in Sydney on Sunday, November 17 and The Enmore Theatre.

Given the legions of fans that watch Eurovision each year, tickets shouldn’t last much longer as the multi-genre show nods to legends and moments from the past 68 editions of this long-running institution.

Australia’s own Dami Im will be performing as part of the line-up, which includes Lithuanian discotheque maestro The Roop, Denmark’s Emmeli De Forest and Maldovan musical group Sunstroke Project.
