Dua Lipa’s favourite things to do in Sydney

Everyone’s favourite pop disco diva is back in Sydney this weekend, performing three dates at Qudos Bank Arena as part of her colossal Radical Optimism tour.

Given her general fabulousness, Lipa typically has a long trail of fans following her every move when she arrives in a city ahead of her tour. She’ll be playing her first Sydney show on Wednesday, jumping over to Friday, and then wrapping up on Saturday before heading off to Auckland to wrap her Southern Hemisphere leg.

We never condone fans smothering a celebrity’s every move but we do remember what Dua Lipa’s favourite places in Sydney are. Will she recreate her most recent Sydney itinerary or is she one for stepping out into something new? Who knows, but at least you’ve got a good chance of a Dua sighting if you end up at one of her favourite places in Sydney.

Dua Lipa’s favourite places in Sydney

Here’s where Dua Lipa has been spotted on some of her previous visits, tried-and-tested Sydney favourites which has seen her revisit on subsequent tours. One constant for Dua, it seems, is always walking the Bondi to Bronte walk, as so many visitors love to do.

1. Bondi to Bronte Walk

On each of Dua’s several visits to Sydney over the past few years, the “Houdini” singer has made it a point to walk the Bondi to Bronte walk. One of the most famous costal walks in the world is regular lure for visitors to Sydney, emerging as an endearing icon of Sydney’s beachy lifestyle.

There’s little surprise that Dua loves to make the walk, so if you do want to “randomly” bump into the star, this is your best bet.

In 2019, Dua was seen posing for photos on a cliff edge along the walk.

See if you can stand the heat at a Barry’s Bootcamp class

The modern day traveller always knows exactly where the best group fitness classes are near their hotel. It’s just the way people travel these days: more health conscious, a sharper focus on wellness, and a recognition that taking care of the mind while on the road has unquestionable value. So no one would have been surprised to see the nu-disco hit maker sweat her way through one of the high intensity workouts at Barry’s Bootcamp on Elizabeth Street.

The Martin Place outpost would have been teeming with celebrity spotters when Dua and her entourage participated in one of the brand’s famously sweaty classes. “Barry’s with the gang ๐Ÿฅต,” she captioned on Instagram.

The Crypto Castle in South Coogee fetches a high nightly fee, but Dua Lipa and her crew were willing customers (photo supplied).

3. Crypto Castle

The over-the-top Crypto Castle in South Coogee may look like a caricature of what luxury is, but the Airbnb-listed property was still good enough for Dua Lipa. The singer and her team apparently stayed in South Coogee by shelling out the eye-watering hire fee for this ridiculous home.

Finder co-founder Fred Schebesta purchased this enormous seaside mansion for $16.85 million in 2021 and it’s been one of Sydney’s most popular luxury rentals since. Want a go? You’re looking at around $7,000 (at least) per night. The good thing, however, is that this home sleeps 10 so think of it as $700 a night each.

Totti’s has created some new rules for trendy dining in Sydney, so makes sense that it’s one of Dua’s favourites (photo: Steven Woodburn).

4. Totti’s

If any Sydney-born restaurant has come to represent Sydney’s modern dining scene, it’s Totti’s. Mike Eggert’s Bondi favourite expanded into the CBD many years ago, and it’s still hard to get a booking. The kitchen’s famous pull-apart woodfired bread anchors the restaurant’s entire small plates approach and Dua is clearly a fan. She posted a photo of the Totti’s bread to her stories when she was here in 2012.

Dua Lipa is just like the rest of us and has always dreamed of taking a luxury yacht out on one of the world’s best harbours.

5. Sydney Harbour

Dua Lipa may be one of the most bankable names in pop, but she’s really just a very regular celebrity that likes doing regular celebrity things. Her down-to-earth nature took here onto our famous Sydney Harbour for the day, where she was spotted perched on a luxury super yacht with a glass of Champagne in her hand. Standard day being a celebrity in Sydney? You bet.

Dua Lipa performs at Qudos Bank Arena this week. Tickets are sold out but, as always, you might be able to find some decently priced last minutes on ticket resale platforms like Tixel.
