One of the biggest names in popular music, Drake, has confirmed an upcoming Australian tour for 2025, making good on rumours that have been floating around the industry for weeks.
During a live stream with Canadian gaming streamer xQc on Sunday night, Drake confirmed rumours that he will be starting a new tour in Australia early next year. Dubbed the Anita Max Wynn Tour (“I need a max win”), he’ll be coming to Australia on February 9 and running through east coast shows from Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast before wrapping in “early March”.
“February 9th for anybody that’s watching from Australia, I’m coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years,” said the rapper.
“Coming back to Australian on tour. Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast… February 9 ’til like… March something”.
The three cities are all that’s been confirmed for the Drake Australia tour so far, but there’s every chance he could be announcing more dates in the run up to February 2025. We also think it’s likely Drake will be performing multiple shows for each city, which makes sense since he will be in the country for at least a month.
Drake’s 2025 tour of Australia has been teased in a series of cryptic social media posts over the past week or so. The first was a photo with Drake in front of the Sydney Opera House, which indicates that perhaps the “Hotline Bling” rapper will be starting the tour in Sydney.
If that’s the case, then the first Drake concert in Sydney will be on February 9. Of course, there’s no way of us knowing exact dates until an official announcement has been made.
When asked by XQC why Australia was on Drake’s radar for this tour, the Canadian rapper simply replied, “I love it there. It’s just fun”.
Sydney Travel Guide will be updating this piece when an official Drake Australian tour announcement is made.
