Cyndi Lauper announces Sydney show as part of farewell tour

Pop legend Cyndi Lauper is coming to Sydney for one last time as part of her global farewell tour. And she’s bringing some firepower with her, with local favourites The Veronicas on support duties as the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” singer hops around the country in April 2025.

Announced this morning by promoters TEG Dainty, Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun tour will bring the diva to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday, April 8 in 2025. The arena show, the very last chance local fans have to catch the prolific singer, is just a small part of a much wider international tour, which kicks off this month in Montreal and will take Lauper across USA and UK before she makes her way to Australia for one last run.

Lauper’s star has never really faded since she first tore up the charts in 1983 with debut album She’s So Unusual, although a recent Paramount+ documentary, Let The Canary Sing, has exposed the icon to a new generation of fans.

“It’s a true honour to promote Cyndi Lauper’s Farewell Tour,” said President and CEO of TEG Dainty, Paul Dainty.

“She’s an iconic artist who has left an indelible mark on the music world, and to be part of this momentous tour is incredibly special.”

With “Untouched” hitmakers The Veronicas playing support, this is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated tours announced for next year. Make sure you’re across the pre-sale and general sale times before they go on sale; as we’ve seen with these nostalgia-baiting tours before, tickets will sell fast.

How to get tickets to see Cyndi Lauper in Sydney
