Sydney’s live music scene is picking up as we dig into the tail-end of 2024, bringing in a huge amount of big-ticket shows from musicians like Thom Yorke, Coldplay and Troy Sivan.

While October was overflowing with sold-out performances from international stars like The Weeknd and Travis Scott, November will be even more a mixed bag with a great diversity of big-name internationals and Aussies icons bringing our biggest venues to life. 1. Thom Yorke

November’s schedule of live music kicks off with a bang as Thom Yorke performs two very special shows at the Sydney Opera House forecourt. The legendary musician, best known for his work as the frontman of Radiohead, will take the open-air stage to perform a massive, varied mix of his solo work as well as, hopefully, several Radiohead hits to give us a full scope of the man’s work to date.

Given that the tour is titled Everything, we’re expecting to be sat across Yorke’s entire body of work, which includes his latest material with his new band The Smile, which he founded with Radiohead’s Johnny Greenwood and jazz drummer Tom Skinner.

2. Coldplay

Coldplay is visiting Sydney as part of their record-breaking Music of the Spheres world tour, scheduling in four sold out shows at Accor Stadium for their massive production, which includes a mammoth lighting rig and tends of thousands of strobing wristbands for fans. With a new albumMoon Musicto showcase, Chris Martin and his band of merry music makers should be putting on one hell of a show as they sweep through with a two-hour set list that nods to their entire discography, including hits “Viva La Vida,” “Fix You,” and “Yellow.”

Note that tickets are still very hard to come across but you should still keep your eyes peeled for any extra Coldplay tickets released at the last minute.

3. Hozier

With chart-toppers like “Take Me To Church” and “Cherry Wine” behind him, Irish musician Hozier has built up a reputation for being one of the most reliable hitmakers. His booming vocals and smart arrangements have taken him to some of the biggest arenas are the world, so it should be no surprise to see him give the Qudos Bank Arena one of the it’s best shows of the year.

For his Unreal Unearth tour, Hozier will be showcasing his new album of the same name, right alongside the hits that have lifted him from an obscure Irish songwriter to one of the world’s most anticipated indie-pop acts.

4. Cold Chisel

Feel like some classic Aussie rock? You can’t go past the legendary Cold Chisel, who are busy readying a set list for their big 50th anniversary tour around the country. There’s no new album to promote or agenda to get out of the way; the stalwart rockers are simply doing this one of for the love of live music, so you can expect to hear all their greatest hits including “Flame Trees” and “Khe Sanh” as they hit up Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena for one night in November (and one in December).

5. Troy Sivan

While Thom Yorke will handle the Sydney Opera House’s Forecourt at the top of November, the Radiohead frontman isn’t the only big act playing the open-air stage this month. World-dominating Aussie pop star Troye Sivan has scheduled in two shows for the breezy venue, bringing his highly anticipated Something To Give Each Other tour back to his home country after a string of sold-out arena shows in Europe.
