World’s biggest ‘bed cinema’ returns to Sydney next month

The outdoor bed cinema phenomenon that absolutely took the city hostage last year, is back from November 29, Set on a huge faux beach in Barangaroo.

MOV’IN BED [sic] is back with a summer blockbuster series that promises to elevate Sydney movie nights – or at least make them more public. With the curtain staying up until March 2025, you’ll have a bit of time to test it out.

The sprawling beach setting at Barangaroo’s Harbour Park is furnished with 160 luxurious queen and king-sized beds. These aren’t your average bean-bags; think plush pillows, cozy blankets, and noise-cancelling headphones, all while you enjoy flicks on Australia’s largest outdoor screen.

Snacks and a stacked line-up

Forget waiting in line for your choc-top, gourmet dining comes straight to you. A simple scan of the QR code on your bedside table opens up a menu of options: from Margherita pizzas to fresh coconuts, frozen cocktails to decadent burgers, all served right to your bed.

Their exciting roster of films lined up, including Ridley Scott’s much-anticipated Gladiator II and Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux, starring the formidable duo of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, along with classic hits, family favourites, and thematic nights.

For those after a VIP experience, the West Hotel offers an elevated option with its exclusive 30 VIP King Beds. Butler service, bottomless popcorn, complimentary sparkling wine and food delivery from Uber Eats and Menulog.

For budget-conscious movie buffs, MOV’IN BED is also rolling out 50 affordable tickets nightly for just $12. Grab your beach towel, plop down on the sand, and soak in the cinematic experience under the stars.
