KX Pilates

KX is huge at the moment because they teach ‘dynamic’ reformer that flips the traditional Pilates script on its head. Named for the “Kaizen Xperience” KX is inspired by the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement, small tweaks that lead to massive results. They offer fantastic individualised instruction, and our reviewer felt incredible uplifted after their session. Each 50-minute class here is a blend of traditional principles and modern flair. It’s not just about pushing yourself harder; it’s about training smarter. The workouts are fast-paced, dynamic, and focus on adapting to your personal fitness level while keeping things fresh.

Pro tip: They have a massive 38 studios in Sydney alone so even if you don’t vibe with the instructor for some reason, but really like the dynamic workout, you can shop around a bit.

Ground Up

Ground up a boutique studio that is faithful to the foundations of Pilates (reformer and mat) but also offers yoga and barre practice. They really work towards a sophisticated and inclusive experience. It’s a beautiful studio with professional staff that make you feel welcome and there is plenty of space to wait for your class or hang out after with a cup of tea. Teneesha’s classes are the standout, she treats every student with care and kindness, and works within all the different levels of fitness and experience. If you sign up for the unlimited account you can access as many of their yoga, dance and reformer pilates classes as you like. We tried a 40 mins class which was perfect for lunchtime.
